Kalesar is a must visit place for lovers of flora and fauna.
It is an overwhelming spread of over 60 acres of lush green picturesque hillside along Yamuna River, surrounded by over 50,000 acres of reserved forest and situated 5500 feet above sea level. It forms the intermediate valley lying between the outer unexplored hills of Himalayas, Simla and Mussourie, near Nahan & Renuka Lake, also on the way to Yamnotri.
Kalesar touches multiple borders, vis, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttranchal.
River Yamuna forms its eastern boundary with the states of UP and Uttaranchal in the east. The district is also bordered by HP in the North and the districts of Karnal, Kurukshetra and Ambala in the South.
Mahamantra Valley of Healing with Nature is well-connected by air and road from New Delhi, Chandigarh and Dehradun.

Interesting tourist spots in the vicinity:
Ancient Kalesar Mahadev Temple (1km) : It is believed that this ancient temple of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati dates back to the period even before the Mughals. The Lingam (Lord Shiva’s idol) is about 4000 years old.
Historic Paonta Sahib (15 kms): Overlooking River Yamuna is the Gurudwara where Guru Gobind Singh (10th Guru of the Sikhs) held court for four years. Interestingly the gurgling Yamuna falls silent below this.
Kalesar Wildlife Sanctuary (37 kms) : Is located towards the North of Shivalik region on the western side of the Yamuna River. The Sanctuary has a remarkable habitation of about 161 species of birds that can be spotted all over the place.
Kalesar National Park (3 Kms): Must visit place for birders and lovers of wildlife. It encompasses a 100-year-old colonial dark bungalow. Kalesar National Park of Haryana was one of the best park of the country.
Hathni Kund Barrage (3 Kms) :
It is a delightful location. Built on a raised plinth, the complex overlooks the flowing waters of the Yamuna. The river flows into the plains of Haryana after crossing over the last lap of the Himalayan foothills at Paonta Sahib. the far distance, stand the foothills of the Himalayas slowly blending into the skyline.
Ch. Devi Lal Herbal Nature Park (16 kms) : Also known as Rudraksh Vatika (रुद्राक्ष वाटिका), is a herbal park for the preservation of several endangered Ayurvedic medicinal herbs.
Suketi Fossil Park (60km) : This was the site of the largest fossil find in the Shivalik Hills. The park has a museum and life-size models of the animals that once roamed these tracts.
